السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Saturday 7th November 2020.
Let’s focus upon ‘National Lockdown No. 2’ today.
It seems like only yesterday when I sat down on my Musalla at home and wrote my first message, on Thursday 26th March soon after our first national lockdown had started. I had been thinking long and hard about the causes which may have upset our Creator, because of which we have been inflicted with this coronavirus.
Under the title ‘Reflections‘, I started my daily messages. Today, 7 months on, we are now into our second national lockdown. Let’s take a moment to self reflect and ponder upon our lives. Has anything at all changed? Are we better practising Muslims, or just the same, or even worse? Each person can answer for themselves.
If there have been changes for the better, then thank The Almighty and continue working towards improving your lifestyle further. Maybe this group will be the minority; I hope I am wrong. So what about the rest of us? The majority?
Daily, we heard news of people leaving this world, old and young. Some were our near and dear ones. Some were expected, and others were completely out of the blue. There are those who fell ill and still are bedridden. All of us will know at least one family, if not more, who have been affected either by illness or bereavement.
If all of this has not been a life changer for us then what will it take to change our lives? Let’s take this lockdown as a second reminder from our Most Merciful Creator.
He created us and knows how ungrateful and unthankful we all are. Out of His sheer Mercy and Love, He has given us another chance. Another reminder. Will we take heed this time round? Remember, you only get one life. You may get hundreds of chances but the moment the soul departs from the body, it’s all over. No injury time, no extra time, and definitely no penalties.
Therefore, a very humble request once again. Change your lives for the better. Become 100 percent practising Muslims. Make your actions and life such that you are looking forward to meeting your Magnificent Creator.
Almighty Allāh keep all of us in His Protection, Āmeen.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
