Ramaḍān and DuꜤā

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Tuesday 12th May 2020. My chosen topic today is ‘Ramaḍān and DuꜤā’.

One of the most powerful weapons a Muslim possesses is DuꜤā. In simple terms, asking Almighty Allāh for each and every thing, each and every time. He is our Creator and He is the One who knows each and every thing. Therefore, we should make a regular habit of asking from Almighty Allāh at all times.

We are very punctual in our DuꜤās when it comes to Ramaḍān. However, DuꜤā should not only be restricted with Ramaḍān. Whilst DuꜤās are accepted at all times, there are some specific times when making DuꜤā carries more weight, and the DuꜤā is more likely to be accepted.

The last part of the night when the majority of people are sleeping is a very good time, as well as between the Azān and Iqāmah at the times of the 5 Farḍ Ṣalāh. DuꜤā should be made with complete devotion and conviction. One of the most important things we all ask for in our DuꜤās is Forgiveness; that is our ultimate aim.

I came across a video clip which I found very touching, on the issue of forgiveness. Maybe you have already seen it as it went viral a few weeks ago. It is only 2 minutes 30 seconds long but has a very powerful message for us all.

May Almighty Allāh accept all our DuꜤās at all times and bless us all with His Divine Forgiveness in this ꜤAsharah of Forgiveness, Āmeen.
