السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Thursday 15th June 2023 / 26 Ẓūl Qā’dah 1444H.

Moon Sighting for Ẓūl Ḥijjah 1444H

As we come to the end of the month of Ẓūl Qā’dah, all of us are eagerly waiting for the Moon Sighting news of Ẓūl Ḥijjah. This Sunday, 18th June, corresponds with 29 Ẓūl Qā’dah for everyone in the UK, ‏مَا شَآءَ الله.

It is very important to educate ourselves on this issue of Moon Sighting and with this in mind, the Zakarīyā Jaame Masjid (ZJM) of Bolton has organised a very important seminar on the subject, this Sunday 18th June from 2pm to 4pm at the ZJM, and is open to both men and women.

Full details are mentioned on the poster. I personally take this opportunity to invite all brothers and sisters, especially from Bolton, Blackburn and Preston to try their utmost best to attend. There will be a question/answer session and it will be most beneficial, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

Remember, Ẓūl Ḥijjah is a very important month. The first 10 days are the most virtuous days of the year.

  • Fasting on the first 9 days, especially on the 9th of Ẓūl Ḥijjah is very rewarding.
  • 10th of Ẓūl Ḥijjah is ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā day.
  • Qurbāni is to be performed between 10th & 12th Ẓūl Ḥijjah.
  • Takbir-e-Tashriq is to be recited, after each Fardh Ṣalāt, from Fajr on 9th until ‘Aṣr on 13th Ẓūl Ḥijjah.

Therefore, let’s make sure we start our month of Ẓūl Ḥijjah on the correct date.

May The Almighty grant us all the correct guidance to observe all Islāmic months correctly and accurately without any doubt whatsoever, Āmeen.

Please spread this message and attached poster widely.
