Don’t Risk Your Fast For 15-30 Minutes

Don’t Risk Your Fast For 15-30 Minutes

There are 2 views in the UK regarding the time to finish Suḥūr, to close your fast. The most authentic and practised upon view in the UK and the rest of the world is when the sun is 18 degrees below the horizon.

That is when Ṣubḥ Ṣādiq (True Dawn) occurs and that is the time to end your Suḥūr. The 18 degrees timetable for this Ramaḍān for Blackburn accompanies this message.

If you compare it with the timetables of other local Masjids, the difference between both is very nominal. Starting from about 15 mins on the first day to around 30 mins on the last day.

My humble request to all my readers is to errr on the side of caution and follow the 18 degrees timetable. Feel free to delay Fajr if you wish, so that you can pray with Jamā’ah at your local Masjid. However, DO NOT delay your Suḥūr.M

May The Almighty forgive all our sins this Ramadhān, Āmeen.

جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
