The Employer’s Relationship With Employees

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

On this Sunday 5th April 2020, I would like to draw our attention to a very important aspect of our daily lives. I am referring to the work and tasks undertaken by those whom we have employed to work for us.

As Employers, some of us take so much advantage of our Employees. Simply because we have the money with which comes power, we feel we actually own our employees. No, brothers and sisters, this should not be the case. Thank Almighty Allāh for being in a privileged honourable position, and give more than the due rights of those who work for you.

If Almighty Allāh has blessed you with wealth then employ 2 people to do the work of 1, to make life easy for that individual. Especially, if that one individual is working in a place or at a time when he or she could be all alone and their life may be at risk. Make smaller profits if need be, take fewer holidays.

Your workers are your bread and butter.

  • Value them
  • Respect them
  • Speak with them nicely
  • Give them incentives and bonuses
  • Feed them on the same dastarkhwān as yours
  • Do not belittle them
  • Do not degrade them
  • Do not take their DuꜤas against you

They work very hard indeed, non-stop for hours at a time. Very heavy and risky jobs on many occasions. Why? To feed their children, look after their elderly parents, or just to live day to day.

The best employer will be judged by his or her employee; not the community.

Almighty Allāh save us from the DuꜤas of the ones we may have abused, Āmeen.

Please share far and wide.
