Ifṭār For Needy Families

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Saturday 20th March 2021.

Let’s talk about ‘Ifṭār For Needy Families’ today.

With Ramaḍān only 3 weeks away, many Muslim households will be well busy with Ramaḍān and Ifṭār preparations. As part of the customs and traditions that we brought with us from back home, our Ifṭār has a very strong connection with fried items and desserts. The Ifṭār food itself, for 30 days, is usually very special. The items and varieties on our dastarkhwāns are too many to mention. ‘Which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?’

Today, I want each and every one of you to spare a thought for those brothers, sisters and children of ours, who will be struggling to put food on the dastarkhwān at Ifṭār and Suḥūr times. We, at the Muslim Welfare Institute (MWI), have been carrying out Ifṭār Programmes in Albania, Bangladesh and India for many years now. For the paltry sum of £30, you will provide one family with basic essentials like rice, lentils, sugar, salt, oil, and dates. This will help these families get through Ramaḍān with ease.

Please read the Sha’bān edition of our UNITY magazine. As well as updates on our projects during the last 3 months, we have launched our ‘Ifṭār Packs’ appeal. My humble request to each and every reader is to try their utmost best to donate at least 3 Ifṭār Packs, which is only £90.

This amount can be from your Zakāt, Sadaqah and also Lillāh donations. Add on £10 Lillāh towards admin costs and round it off to a nice round figure of £100, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. Imagine the Du’ās you will get for the 30 days of Ramaḍān at the time of Ifṭār, when these families open their rozā (fast) with food provided by your donations. These are very hard working labourers whose Du’ās will definitely reach the skies, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

Various methods of payments are accepted on our website, https://mwinstitute.org.uk/. We await your donations.

Almighty Allāh bless us all with plenty of Barakah in our sustenance and keep us all in His Protection, especially during this upcoming holy month, Āmeen.
