السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Thursday 24th December 2020.
Continuing with the beautiful story of Ḥaḍrat ‘Īsā, عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, Ḥaḍrat Maryam, عَلَيْها ٱلسَّلَامُ, had already witnessed miracles in her life. However, the biggest miracle was yet to come.
She grew up to be very pious and religious. One day, she saw the angel Ḥaḍrat Jibra’īl, عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, in the form of a man. Naturally, she was afraid. He told her not to be afraid and said that he was Jibra’īl, sent by Almighty Allāh to give her the glad tidings that she would give birth to a son.
Maryam, عَلَيْها ٱلسَّلَامُ, was surprised and asked, “How will I have a son when no man has ever touched me?” Ḥaḍrat Jibra’īl, عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, responded by saying that Almighty Allāh can do whatever He wants. He also informed Ḥaḍrat Maryam, عَلَيْها ٱلسَّلَامُ, that when the people ask about the birth of a child without a father, all you need to do is point to the child. Thus, the miraculous birth of Ḥaḍrat ‘Īsā, عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ, took place.
I have been blessed on 3 occasions to visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, which is the most holiest site in Christianity. Thousands of tourists from all over the world visit this Church. The place of this miraculous birth is marked by a star in the basement of this Church. Although it’s the Christian belief, the teachings of Islām also refer to this particular spot.
Now came the moment for Ḥaḍrat Maryam, عَلَيْها ٱلسَّلَامُ, to face her people. When they questioned her about the child, she pointed to the baby. The people were absolutely amazed and dazzled at what happened next.
By the Power of Almighty Allāh, the baby spoke, “I am the servant of Allāh. He has decided to give me the Book and make me a Prophet. He has made me blessed wherever I may be. He has ordered me to perform Ṣalāh and give Zakāh as long as I am alive. He has made me kind to my mother and has not made me arrogant nor unfortunate. May the peace of Allāh be on me on the day I was born, the day I die and the day I will be resurrected.”
So this was the miraculous birth of Ḥaḍrat ‘Īsā, عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ. We will continue tomorrow, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.
As it’s Christmas eve, and tomorrow is Christmas day, please take out some time to inculcate the right beliefs in your childrens’ minds.
