The Lessons From Covid

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Monday 21st June 2021.

Let’s focus on ‘The Lessons From Covid’ today.

The government has set Monday 19th July as ‘Freedom Day’. If all goes according to plan, then all lockdown restrictions will be lifted from that date. With 4 weeks to go, let us ask ourselves, has anything changed at all in my life?

If I was to give you my absolute honest analysis, there has been no change at all whatsoever. There was a massive uproar when our Masjids had to close. Now that we are fully open, where have our brothers disappeared to? Speaking with colleagues in Blackburn and beyond, never mind an increase in Musallī for Ṣalāh with Jamā’ah, there might actually have been a decrease. How come?

Are we all bark and no bite? Our Masjids should be overflowing. We should be struggling to fit people in. Alas, it hasn’t happened. Before the sisters start smiling, has anything changed in your lives my sisters? Are you praying 5 times Ṣalāh daily without fail? How about modesty?

The sun has been out for the last few weekends and our sisters have proven that Covid and lockdown has not affected their dress and appearance one little bit. No my sister, this should not be the case.

As mentioned in a number of my earlier posts, The Almighty sent Covid to remind us that life can change in a split of a second. So, come on brothers and sisters, let’s make the change in our life and make it now; tomorrow might be too late. Let’s have every single male in the Masjid for Ṣalāh, with Jamā’ah, 5 times a day. Sisters, make sure you don’t miss one Ṣalāh at all.

Finally, do spare a thought for all those people who are not well due to Covid. If The Almighty has blessed you with good health, then the least you can do to be grateful to Him is to carry out all the actions He has ordered us to carry out, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

May The Almighty guide us all, Āmeen.
