السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
Hope you and family are well. It’s Friday 24th April 2020. Today’s topic is ‘Let Ramaḍān 2020 be Your Life-changer‘.
What a wonderful atmosphere we all experience as soon as the blessed month of Ramaḍān commences. Our 24 hour day settles into a wonderful routine where we ensure we do as much worship of The Almighty as possible.
Hardly anyone misses their Ṣalāh. We pray as much QurꜤān as possible. We just become practising Muslims, automatically. Elders and young alike fast, to please Almighty Allāh. The long days of April and May with the weather getting warmer by the day makes no difference, and hardly anyone misses the fast (without a valid SharꜤī excuse).
Let’s stop and think for a moment. If we can manage all our daily Islamic practices in the state of being hungry and thirsty, then surely those same practices should be much easier to carry out for the remaining 11 months, as we will be eating and drinking! However, my experience of Ramaḍān during the last 40+ years is the complete opposite.
As we start this Blessed Ramaḍān, let’s first and foremost make a firm intention that we will try our utmost to practise upon all the teachings of Islām during Ramaḍān, and thereafter, continue for the remaining 11 months اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.
Sit in a quiet corner and reflect upon what you need to change in your life, to make you a practising Muslim. Everyone’s needs will be different. Make this Ramaḍān into a life-changer.
Almighty Allāh make us all true practising Muslims for all 12 months of the year, Āmeen.
Please share far and wide.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
