It’s Not Coming Home

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Wednesday 14th July 2021.

My chosen topic today is ‘It’s Not Coming Home’.

It all started 4 weeks ago; a number of football teams from all over Europe playing each other in a number of European cities. Last Sunday, it all came to a climax. As England progressed through the group stages and then started knocking out teams in the elimination ties, the dream of becoming European champions was becoming a reality. Alas, it was not to be.

Our worldly life has been termed as a ‘game’ in the Holy Qur’ān. Regardless of all the hype before the game, a time comes when it all ends. Very soon, it is all forgotten. That is exactly the reality of this world. It doesn’t matter who you are or how long you live, this world will also end one day. Intelligent are those who strive hard day and night in this world, building up their rewards for the Hereafter.

They will be the ultimate winners, and remain victorious, forever and ever. No one will be able to beat them. The day we all enter Jannat ul-Firdaus will be the ‘real homecoming’. Let’s learn a lesson from Euro 2021. Focus on building up results for the Hereafter. Once you win on the Day of Judgement, you will never be a loser, ever again.

Almighty Allāh grant us all the ability to carry out enough goods to be able to enter Jannat ul-Firdaus without reckoning, Āmeen.

By the way, there will not be any discrimination in the Hereafter, where heroes become zeros within seconds. Your skin colour doesn’t matter. Your heart and your actions will determine your future.
