Have you sorted your Qurbāni?
As we approach ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone about one of the most important acts of worship during the 3 days of celebration.
Qurbāni is Wajib (necessary) on all mature adults who are sane and possess the amount upon which Zakāt is compulsory on the morning of ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā. The amount at present is £400.
Anyone who has £400 or more has to have a Qurbāni performed. It is more preferable and advisable to perform your Qurbāni here in the UK so that this important Sunnah is revived within us and our generations.
At the same time, you can allocate your additional (Nafl) Qurbānis to other countries, especially those where the Muslims are poor and hardly get to eat meat throughout the year.
We at the MWI are having Qurbānis performed in Albania, Bangladesh and India. The accompanying poster has all the details. The deadline is this coming Friday 14th June. Do not delay.
May The Almighty accept all our Qurbānis and make this ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā an occasion of happiness and joy for Muslims throughout the world, Āmeen.
