‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā 2021 in Albania

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Thursday 22nd July 2021.

Let me take you to ‘Albania’ today.

My first visit to Albania was in 1998, spending 2 weeks there, along with two colleagues. Albania is a small country in Eastern Europe. After enjoying over 500 years of Islāmic rule, it went through 40 years of strict Communism.

Prior to Communism, Albania was a flourishing Islāmic country, with over 2000 Masjids. Once Communism took over, all Islāmic practices were strictly banned. When the country came out of Communism, in 1998, there were only a handful of Masjids left.

The majority of them had been demolished and the remaining ones were converted into cinemas and theatres. In 1998, Albania was just starting to recover from the effects of Communism. Since the last 23 years, a number of charities and organisations have been working to revive Islām and the Muslims in this country. The biggest impact has been made by the Tabligh Jamā’ah.

Today, I want to share with you glimpses of ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā 2021 in Albania. By The Mercy of The Almighty and the Du’ās and support of brothers and sisters throughout the UK and the world, Albania has over 700 Masjids functioning once again.

A humble request to share this message, with all your contacts please.

Almighty Allāh accept all our efforts and take us from strength to strength, Āmeen.
