السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Saturday 6th June 2020. My chosen topic today is ‘The Heart of The QurꜤān‘.
Since the 26th of March, I have emphasised a number of times on the importance of the recitation of The Holy QurꜤān and also its understanding. The QurꜤān are the words of our Creator. What is our Creator telling us? What is the purpose of Him creating us? What is the purpose of life? Etc.
Today I want to tell you about a very special Sūrah in The QurꜤān. Known as the ‘Heart of The QurꜤān’, Sūrah Yāsīn starts at the end of the 22nd Juz. Each and every Muslim should learn this Sūrah off by heart. I am quite confident you will have already done so, but if you haven’t, then there is no better time than now, while we’re still in a lockdown situation and most of us are at home.
Set time aside and start memorising Sūrah Yāsīn. The morning is the best time for this, when you are absolutely fresh. Get the whole family to commit it to heart, starting from tomorrow.
The virtues of reciting Sūrah Yāsīn are plentiful. The Books of Ḥadīth mention:
- ‘Whosoever recites Yāsīn at the time of a need, his need is fulfilled.‘ (Tirmidhī)
- ‘Recite Yāsīn near a person who is on his deathbed.‘ (Abū Dawūd)
- ‘One who recites Yāsīn at the start of the day, all his needs are fulfilled.‘ (al-Dārimī)
سُبْحَانَ الله, what more do we want! So come on, with so many virtues and blessings, we surely cannot miss out. Make sure you start your day with Yāsīn and, if you have not memorised it yet, start from tomorrow, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.
Almighty Allāh bless us all with the virtues of Sūrah Yāsīn and give us all the ability to recite it daily, Āmeen.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
