Protection From Poverty Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Sunday 7th June 2020. My chosen topic today is ‘Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah’.

Yesterday I touched upon the virtues and blessings of Sūrah Yāsīn. One of the biggest complaints people make today is not having enough barakah in their sustenance. Although they work hard day and night trying to make ends meet, the majority of people are always worried about their sustenance.

The QurꜤān has the answer to this. ‘Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah’ starts from the 13th rukūꜤ of the 27th Juz (follows Sūrah al-Raḥmān). The following virtues have been mentioned regarding this Sūrah:

  • Whosoever recites Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah every night, poverty will never affect him.‘ (ibn Kathīr)
  • Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah is the surah of wealth, so recite it and teach it to your children.‘ (ibn Asākir)

سُبْحَانَ الله, what an amazing Sūrah! Let’s start from tonight. Ideally this Sūrah should be prayed after Maghrib, but it can be prayed anytime during the night. Once you have memorised Sūrah Yāsīn, start on Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah. Similar to Sūrah Yāsīn, this Sūrah also should be in the heart of each and every Muslim.

Almighty Allāh safeguard each and every Muslim from poverty and bless us all with the virtues of Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah.

Please spread far and wide.

جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
