Stand with Masjid al-‘Aqṣā

It’s Tuesday 11th May 2021.

Let me take to you ‘Masjid al-‘Aqṣā’ today.

It was May 2012 when I first visited the magnificent Masjid al-‘Aqṣā, ‏. My first Ṣalāh was Fajr and it was so emotional. Every since I had heard about Masjid al-‘Aqṣā and Palestine, a very long time, I had yearned to visit. My dream had come true.

Having spent 6 days in the Holy Lands, my heart broke when I had to leave. A year later, in 2013, Almighty Allāh blessed me with my second, also very emotional, visit. On this occasion, I spent the last 2 weeks of Ramaḍān in al-Quds including ‘Eid ul-Fiṭr.

My last visit was in 2017, again in Ramaḍān. After spending 4 days there, we moved on to Makkah al-Mukarramah and Madinah al-Munawwarah, ‏.

Today, I want to make a very humble request to each and every Muslim resident of Blackburn, male, female and child. Our Masjid al-‘Aqṣā is under attack. Our Palestinian brothers, sisters and children are being shot at left, right and centre. We need to stand up in solidarity with Masjid al-‘Aqṣā and Palestine. Let’s have each and every Muslim outside the town hall at 6pm sharp for a one hour vigil. This is the least that we can do for our Masjid al-‘Aqṣā. Come rain or shine, we need to be out in our thousands today, Make sure your bring out your Palestinian scarves and flags. Sisters need to be out in their Palestinian themed abayas and hijabs. Please bring the children out as well.

Let’s make the 29th of Ramaḍān 2021 ‘al-‘Aqṣā Day’ here in Blackburn. See you all at the town hall at 6pm, Please don’t let al-‘Aqṣā down.

Almighty Allāh liberate Masjid al-‘Aqṣā and grant freedom to Palestine, Āmeen.
