السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Sunday 5th July 2020. My chosen topic today is ‘Sajdah All Over the World’.
Many of us travel to different parts of the world مَا شَآءَ الله. When it comes to Ṣalāh time and we are out sightseeing, we usually wait till we get back to the hotel to pray our Ṣalāh. This should not be the case. When you leave your hotel, perform Wuḍū’ and try to remain in the state of Wuḍū’ for as long as you can. Then, wherever you are, as soon as Ṣalāh time begins, find a quiet corner and offer your Ṣalāh.
Remember, the part of the earth where you perform Sajdah will bear witness to your worship on the Day of Judgement. Sometimes we want to pray, but we are shy. At most places, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of tourists from all over the world. Don’t let that put you off.
In 2011, I was blessed with a visit to South Africa, and recall praying my Ṣalāh on the world famous Table Mountain in Cape Town and also at Cape Point, where the Indian Ocean meets the Pacific. Truly two wonderful natures of the universe. When we visited Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, I took the opportunity to pray my Ṣalāh on the island .مَا شَآءَ الله
Two years later, we went to the top of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and I prayed my Ṣalāh on the top level. It was breathtaking .مَا شَآءَ الله
In 2019, I visited Gibraltar (originally Jabal al-Tāriq, named after Tāriq bin Ziyād who conquered Spain and Portugal) an amazing island.
A cable car takes you right to the top from where you get a bird’s-eye view of the ‘Rock of Gibraltar‘, a most stunning view اَلْحَمْدُلِلّه; I ensured my Ṣalāh was prayed there.
While visiting Tangiers (Morocco) in 2019, I went to the meeting point of the Meditarranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, Cape Spartel.
Again, a truly wonderful sight, greatly enhanced by praying my Ṣalāh there.
To conclude, try your utmost best to pray your Ṣalāh at as many places as possible. Almighty Allāh accept all our Ṣalāhs and bless us with an opportunity to visit all the wonders of the World, Āmeen.
