السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Friday 5th June 2020. Let’s focus upon ‘Ramaḍān & ꜤEid ul-Fiṭr 2020 in India‘ today, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.
The last 2 months have been a real test for our partner organisation in India, the Gujarāt Sarvajānik Welfare Trust (GSWT). Based in the famous city of Aḥmedābād, in the state of Gujarāt, the GSWT is an NGO, serving humanity since 2001, مَا شَآءَ الله. Managed by a very dedicated team of trustees, who are all giving their time فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّٰهِ, the GSWT are doing a sterling job in the fields of education, health, income support, relief and welfare.
As the coronavirus gripped India, especially Aḥmedābād and the surrounding areas, the GSWT went into full action. They started providing food packs and cash grants to thousands of affected families. Although they maintained social distancing and strictly adhered to government guidelines, one by one, their management and staff started testing positive for Corona. Even then, they continued to serve the needy to the best of their ability.
Today, I would like to pay a very special tribute to their services for humanity during the last 2 months, supported by 3 video clips.
The first one gives a brief introduction of GSWT and their ꜤEid 2020 distribution.
The other two are are shorter clips about specific ꜤEid distributions.
Despite all of them testing positive with three being hospitalised for 2 weeks, and the President of the organisation, Hāji ꜤUmar Manṣūri, sacrificing his life, they continued to serve the needy families. A humble request to pray for each and every member of the GSWT. May Almighty Allāh grant all of them complete speedy recovery, lengthen their shadows upon us, and bless them with success in their services for humanity, Āmeen.
