Eid ul-Aḍḥā 2021

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Monday 19th July 2021.

My chosen topic today is ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā 2021’.

Almighty Allāh has given us Muslims two beautiful days of celebration. ‘Eid ul-Fiṭr and ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā are days of happiness and joy. However, very unfortunately, the majority of the Muslims have completely misunderstood the reality of these two wonderful days. I will not be incorrect in saying that, Muslims commit more sins on these two days, than on any other day of the year.

‘Eid day starts beautifully with Masjids full for Fajr Ṣalāh and overflowing for ‘Eid Ṣalāh. Thereafter, the majority head for the Qabrastan (cemetery) to pray for their near and dear loved ones who have departed from this world. As we get into the early part of the afternoon, most of us now go out of control.

Our youth, boys and girls, come out in their cars with music blaring out at full blast. Our brothers and sisters are out on the streets with such immodest clothing, that it puts our religion to shame. Is this what ‘Eid Day is all about? Is this why The Almighty gave us happiness? Do we deserve such good weather?

Let’s ponder and reflect today, now, about which clothes we are intending to wear on Tuesday or Wednesday. Are they compliant with the Islamic dress code? Will our brothers be happy to meet our Beloved Prophet, صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎, and the Khulafah and Saḥābah, رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ, in our ‘Eid attire? Are our sisters ready to embrace the Wives and Daughters of our Holy Prophet, صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎, and the Saḥābiyyāh, رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُن, with their ‘Eid clothes?

My tone may seem harsh, but this is the reality. Enjoyment and celebration of this Day means fulfilling all the Commands of Almighty Allāh, thanking Him for all His favours upon us, spending time with family and friends within the Islamic Teachings. Not one Ṣalāh with Jamā’ah should be missed on ‘Eid Day. No immodest dressing. No music. No causing inconvenience to others.

Let this ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā be an Islamic ‘Eid for all of us. Let it be one where we remember the Bounties of The Almighty at all times and be grateful for everything we have. Remember, life can change in seconds, as we experienced back in March 2020. So let’s not go beyond the limit.

May The Almighty grant us all the ability to celebrate this ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā fully according to His Commands and the Golden Teachings of His Beloved Prophet, صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎, Āmeen.

Please share this message on all your groups, so that it reaches all the Muslims, especially the youth, in the UK and abroad.  Khayr Mubarak to all.
