Clitheroe Masjid Appeal

It’s Saturday 10th May 2021.

Let me take you to ‘Clitheroe’ today.

During my days at Dārul Uloom Bury, I was instructed by our Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Yūsuf Motālā Ṣāḥib, نور الله مرقده, to set up a library. In my pursuit of finding books at good prices, I ended up at the Sunday car boot sale in Clitheroe. That was in the 1980s.

Little did I know at that time that 30 years on, I would still be associated with this small town. The Muslim community, comprising a handful of families from Pakistan, arrived in Clitheroe in the 1950s and 60s. As they settled in, one family donated a house to be used as a Masjid – this was the beginning of the Islāmic story of Clitheroe.

Fast forwarding 50 years, we have a beautiful iconic building in the heart of Clitheroe serving the whole Muslim community of the Ribble Valley including Gisburn, Langho, Sabden, Whalley, and the surrounding areas. The ground and first floors of the Masjid are complete and in full use, ‏. The second floor is not yet in use.

The Masjid has 50 windows which are very old and need replacing urgently. The cost per window is £500. As we are about to approach the 27th night of Ramaḍān and the last few days, we are launching an appeal to raise £25,000 for these 50 windows,

This is another wonderful opportunity for families to get together and contribute £500 for a window, as Īsāl ath-Thawāb and Sadaqah Jāriyah for their Marḥūmeen.

One family from Blackburn, two families from Bolton and one family from Preston have already kicked us off with 4 windows, ‏. Are you one of the lucky ones to take one of the remaining 46 windows?

Don’t miss out on this golden opportunity … there is no guarantee of another 27th night, or another Ramaḍān. You can donate via https://donorbox.org/clitheromasjid50windowsappeal

May Almighty Allāh accept all our donations and keep all of us in His Protection, Āmeen.
