السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Sunday 21st November / 17 Rabī’ ul-Ākhir 1443 H.
Let’s focus on Time today.
One of the most important things in life which we do not value is time. As we are all witnessing and commenting, ‘time flies’. Can you believe that we are just over 4 months away from another Ramaḍān?
Time is one commodity that once it’s gone, it’s gone. That precise moment will never ever come back again. So my message today is that we should value each and every second that we have been gifted with.
From the moment we wake up till the moment we sleep, we should not waste any time at all. Unfortunately today, there are so many distractions upon which we waste hours and hours, without realising how much precious time we have wasted. Many of us are hooked on our social media. We spend hours on end without even realising.
Then there is the sports craze, and mustn’t forget to to mention the films and dramas which have even taken our non-English speaking community elders in their grasp. The list is almost endless.
Let’s turn a new leaf in our life today and start making the most of our time in activities which will be of benefit to us in this world and the Hereafter.
Besides our 5 Farḍ Ṣalāhs and our daily essential work and family responsibilities, we should use the rest of our time in reciting the Holy Qur’ān together with it’s translation. How many of us understand the Sūrahs that we pray in our Ṣalāhs? And some of us have been praying these same Sūrahs for maybe 30/40 years now.
The average lifespan of our Ummah is between 60 & 70. Besides Almighty Allāh, no one knows how many years, or months, or weeks, or days, or hours, or minutes … or seconds, we have remaining. Let’s not fall into the trap of time wasting.
May The Almighty give us all the ability to value the time that we have got left, Āmeen.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
