Moon Sighting – Next Steps

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Wednesday 4th August 2021.

Let me share with you ‘A Timeline of Moon Sighting‘.

The first ever organisation formed in the UK was ‘Majlis ul-‘Ulamā UK’. This was back in 1966, the famous year when England won the World Cup. The name was changed to Jam’īat ul-‘Ulamā in 1971. In 1984, ‘Ḥizb ul-‘Ulamā UK’  was created.

Today, I have added a short document to my website, which summarises the ‘Timeline of Moon Sighting‘ from 1966 to date. It is a must read for each and every person. The sequence of events is clearly outlined.

There are 2 organisations that form the Central Moon Sighting Committee (CMSC), the Jam’īat ul-‘Ulamā of Britain (JUB) and Ḥizb ul-‘Ulamā UK (HU). It is the intention of our United Kingdom Crescent Review Forum (UK CRF) to arrange to meet with the representatives of the CMSC towards the end of August, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

We intend to invite the New Crescent Society (NCS), so that they can present their UK only sighting criteria to the CMSC.  If the CMSC accept the criteria of the NCS, then we intend to invite the Wifāqul ‘Ulamā (WU) to also accept the same criteria, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

If however, the CMSC disagree on adopting the NCS criteria, then we will request both (CMSC and NCS) to accept the criteria set out by WU, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

Whichever direction we go in, our ultimate aim is to unite the Muslims of the UK as much as possible. At this stage, my humble request to each and every Muslim is to pray most sincerely to The Almighty that may He, through His Infinite Grace and Mercy, unite us all on this issue of Moon Sighting.

Do read and share the timeline:

Almighty Allāh guide us and grant us success, Āmeen.
