السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Wednesday 17th June. My chosen topic today is ‘Āyat ul-Kursī’.
In two of my previous messages, I mentioned the virtues of Sūrah Yāsīn and Sūrah al-WāqiꜤah and made a humble request to all to memorise both Sūrahs off by heart and pray them daily after Fajr and Maghrib respectively. I hope all have done that and are reciting daily.
Today, I wanted to talk about a very special verse of The Holy QurꜤān. In the first rukūꜤ (verse) of the third pārāh (Juz) is Āyat ul-Kursī, a part of Sūrah al-Baqarah. Some of the virtues of Āyat ul-Kursī are as follows:
- The Holy Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ is reported to have said ‘This is the most virtuous verse amongst all the verses of The Holy QurꜤān’. (Musnad Ahmad)
- The Holy Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ is reported to have said ‘There is one verse in Sūrah al-Baqarah which is known as the leader of all the verses of The QurꜤān, in whichever house this verse is recited, shaitān leaves that house’. (Tirmidhī & Mustadrak Hākim)
- The Holy Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ is reported to have said ‘Whosoever recites Āyat ul-Kursī after every Farḍ Ṣalāh, the only barrier between that person and Jannah is death’. (NasāꜤī)
What blessed virtues of Āyat ul-Kursī سُبْحَانَ الله. Most, if not all, of us will know this verse off by heart. If not, learn it straight away; it is only 10 lines. Most importantly, make a habit of praying it after every Farḍ Ṣalāh and also reciting it regularly in your house. You will witness amazing blessings اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.

Almighty Allāh bless our houses with the regular recitation of The Holy QurꜤān, Āmeen.
