السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Friday 26th June 2020. My chosen topic today is ‘The Ultimate Success’.
After 30 years of waiting, Liverpool finally won the premiership title. Since last night, Liverpool fans have been celebrating and this will continue for the next few weeks. On the other hand, Manchester United fans are absolutely gutted. They just cannot accept defeat.
Whether you are a Liverpool or Man U fan, please don’t let football dominate your life. Yes, of course enjoy the moment; Liverpool fans deserve it and long may the success continue. However, always keep in mind that this is only a temporary happiness.
The ‘ultimate success’ is for the one who finishes at the top in the Hereafter. This life has been compared to a game. There is so much talk about the game beforehand, the build up to the match is so enjoyable. If you are actually at the game the feeling is incredible, especially at Anfield.
The next 90 minutes fly past. If your team wins, you are over the moon. If your team loses, your mood is down for a few days. If it’s a draw, you are bored stiff. And that’s about it. It’s all over, everyone moves on.
Similar is our life. We will have enjoyable moments and sad ones, some memories to forever cherish, and others we’d like to forget straight away. What is certain is that this life will end one day.
To conclude, don’t let football or other sports, or for that matter, any other activity, take over your life. Enjoy the moment and move on. The life in the Hereafter is an eternal one; it will never end. The Bounties and Wonders of our Creator will keep us entertained forever and ever. Make sure you don’t lose the most important game and goal of your life.
Almighty Allāh grant us all the true understanding and value of this world, Āmeen.
