السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Tuesday 1st December 2020.
Let’s talk about the ‘Reopening of Masjids for Jamā’ah’ today.
Exactly 4 weeks ago, our second national lockdown here in the UK came into force. Although places of worship were allowed to remain open this time round, there was a restriction on Ṣalāh with Jamā’ah. By the Grace and Mercy of Almighty Allāh, this restriction will be lifted at midnight tonight, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. This means that we are once again allowed to offer our 5 Ṣalāhs with Jamā’ah in our local Masjids. I have touched upon the subject of Masjids in a number of my messages which are available on my website.
After Īmān, the most important fundamental of Islam is Ṣalāh. A most precious gift, gifted by the Magnificent Creator to the Best of His Creations, صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ, on that miraculous night of Me’rāj. A wonderful occasion for the Creation to remember their Creator 5 times during a 24 hour period.
As if that in itself was not sufficient, The Most Merciful Creator has promised to increase the reward of this Ṣalāh by 25 or 27 times if offered with Jamā’ah, سُبْحَانَ الله. Think about it. Ponder over it. In layman’s terms, pray alone and get £1 and pray with Jamā’ah and get £25 or £27. Only a foolish person will earn £5 a day when he can earn £125 or £135 in a day.
So come on brothers, let’s turn a new leaf in our lives from Fajr Ṣalāh tomorrow. Unless you have a valid Shar’ī excuse, do not miss Ṣalāh with Jamā’ah. In the beautiful days of our Holy Prophet, صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ, only an open hypocrite would miss Jamā’ah. One would even crawl or take the support of 2 people, but would not miss Jamā’ah.
For those who are not well and isolating or who have tested positive or are not in the best of health, please pray at home, and you will get your extra reward.
Finally, just before the sisters start asking about their rewards, you will get the same reward as Jamā’ah if you offer your Ṣalāhs at home, a win-win situation. One thing you can definitely do is make sure the menfolk of your family join the Masjid Jamā’ah. The majority of husbands do exactly as their wives order, so how come the Masjids are not full? Wives are not fulfilling their duties when it comes to Ṣalāh with Jamā’ah.
Almighty Allāh fill all the Masjids of the world with Musalli again and never ever bring us to closure or Jamā’ah restrictions, Āmeen.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
