It’s Tuesday 5th May / 17 Ẓūl Qā’dah 1447 H

Make Sure You Vote This Thursday

Please share this message far & wide. Thursday 7th May is Polling Day. The day when we all have the opportunity to vote for whom and which party we want for our local area and council. Please do not vote blindly, and please, please, do not spoil your ballot paper.

It has now become absolutely crucial that we all need to go out and vote. If you have postal votes, go and post your vote into the town hall on Wednesday or Thursday personally to ensure your vote is counted.

The purpose of this message is to encourage you to vote and serve as a gentle reminder. Read the manifestos of each party and then vote for the party that has the best policies for us and our future. If you don’t understand, ask your children or even grandchildren.

If need be, consult your local Imām or Muslim Scholars. Remember, a lot is at stake at these elections. A few votes here and there could make a big difference. Also remember that Islām and politics go hand in hand.

Planning permission for Masjids & Madrasahs, Niqāb, Ḥalāl school meals, fast burials, protests for Palestine, etc. are all Islāmic issues, dictated by politics and politicians. If the wrong party takes power, our petitions and actions will hold no value.

Be proactive – not reactive.

Almighty Allāh destine Khayr for Islam and Muslims in the upcoming elections and grant victory to the right and just party, Āmeen.
