Don’t Waste Your Money on Car Park Fines
During the last week, a few colleagues brought to my attention, that they had received car parking fines upto £100. Apparently, they had parked in the car park next to Jans restaurant on Victoria Street here in Blackburn.
As Jans is a HMC certified restaurant, I took the opportunity to clarify the car parking issue with them directly. The car park is owned privately by a third party. There are very clear signs stating that payment must be made by using an app, details of which are clearly displayed.
Also, for clients of Jans, all you need to do is log in your number plate as soon as you enter their premises (must be within 10 mins of parking) then you do not need to pay. It’s as simple as that.
For no reason whatsoever, people are ending up paying fines of up to £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 28 days. And then adding insult to injury, many people have approached Jans restaurant and blamed them for the fine.
They have very clearly clarified that they DO NOT own that land and DO NOT get any commission from the private company that manages the car park.
My message today is, please let common sense prevail. Read the details carefully and park accordingly. Do not waste your money and do not blame others for your mistakes.
