Do you have New Muslim (Revert) Friends?

One of the biggest sacrifices made by New Muslims, is when they revert to Islām. Many go through difficulties with families and friends and it is like starting a new life again. Blessed are those Muslims who become the means of bringing someone into the fold of Islām and assisting them through the struggles.

This is a vast subject, which I will touch upon in the future, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. The purpose of my message today is to remind those who have revert friends to encourage them to make a will during their lifetime. Thereby ensuring that, after their passing away, all the funeral rites are observed according to the laws of Islām.

This is absolutely essential, as without a will, the next of kin will have a right to assert their views on how the funeral and burial should take place. I have witnessed a number of cases where the next of kin have been adamant on having a non-Islāmic funeral, to the extent that full efforts were made to cremate the deceased revert.

When the non-Muslim family members are challenged, courts get involved and I have personally witnessed judges deciding in favour of the non-Muslim family who are next of kin. Therefore, please share this very important message of mine with reverts and also their friends and associates. After sacrificing so much during their lifetime for the sake of Īmān and Islām, how sad that the final actions in this world are contrary to Islām.

May The Almighty protect the Īmān and Islām of all Muslims, especially the reverts, Āmeen.
