3 Don’ts in Ramadān

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Friday 15th April 2022 / 14 Ramaḍān 1443H.

As we sail through the month of Ramaḍān, not a second is to be wasted. Who knows if they will be around to witness another Ramaḍān?

I touched upon 3 do’s in my first Ramaḍān message. Today, it’s the 3 don’ts. Please ensure you do not waste these precious moments in gossip.

Even outside Ramaḍān, we should not be talking about other people.

You also need to refrain from backbiting. This is one of the major sins and must be avoided at all times, especially during Ramaḍān. Although your fast will not be broken, backbiting is just like eating your dead brother’s flesh. What is the point of staying hungry and thirsty then?

Don’t use bad language. Yes, you are hungry. Yes, you are thirsty. Yes, you are tired. Your patience is being tested. Control your tongue.

Half of Ramaḍān has whizzed by. Make the most of the second half.

Almighty Allāh grant us all the courage, ability, and energy to value each and every remaining second of this beautiful month, Āmeen.
