Depression, Tension and Stress

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Saturday 7th August 2021.

My chosen topic today is ‘Depression, Tension and Stress‘.

The number of people experiencing depression, tension and stress are on the increase. My message today is for the people who are experiencing these symptoms and also for their families and friends. First and foremost, please do not suffer in silence.

All 3 can be termed as illnesses; therefore, they can be treated by giving them the attention and care that is required. If you start to notice that you are not your normal self, or others around you tell you, then that is the time to start looking for help. Speak to your close family members and, if need be, go and see your GP.

Make sure you pray your 5 times Ṣalāh and try your utmost best to fulfil all the commands of Almighty Allāh. It is very important that you set a regular routine for your life. Staying up late at night unnecessarily and excessive use of social media gadgets does not help these conditions one little bit.

Family and friends can play a very major part in helping their near and dear ones, if they are going through difficult times. All need to get together to draw up a timetable, and try and spend as much time as possible befriending and mentoring the person who is not well.

All close ones have to give some kind of sacrifice. Remember, today it is someone else; tomorrow, it could be us. There are a number of agencies out there that provide counselling services, some of which can also assist with treatment.

Finally, do not for one moment feel embarrassed or ponder over, in your mind, what the community will think. That will not affect you one little bit. Do not let your close ones suffer just because you don’t want others to find out.

Almighty Allāh give cure to all the people who are suffering from any kind of illness, Āmeen.

Please share this message with your contacts.
