The Blackburn Moonsighting Working Group (BMWG), hereby takes the opportunity to announce that ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā will be celebrated on Thursday 29th June 2023, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. This decision has been based on non-sighting of the moon locally in the UK and regionally, in Morocco, on the 29th of Ẓūl Qā’dah, as per our Sharī’ah guidelines. Therefore, marking Tuesday 20th June 2023 as the 1st of Ẓūl Ḥijjah 1444 AH.
Preparations are under way to organise ‘Eid Ṣalāh on Thursday 29th June 2023, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. Times and venues will be confirmed very soon.
It is our humble request to each and every person to whom this message reaches to celebrate ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā on Thursday 29th June 2023. This will be a means of celebrating your ‘Eid on the correct LOCAL ‘Eid day and you will also be part of uniting the Ummah on this very important issue by reviving the blessed Sunnah of Local Sighting.
May The Almighty grant happiness and joy to all the Muslims around the world on this blessed occasion of ‘Eid ul-Aḍḥā, Āmeen.
