Valentine’s Day

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It’s Friday 12th February 2021.

Let’s talk about ‘Valentine’s Day’ today.

The 14th of February is also known as Valentine’s day. Each and every one of you knows what happens on this day. So let me tell you what must not happen on Sunday.

No cards please. No chocolates. No flowers. No gifts. Nothing. For the sake of The Almighty, use your common sense and do not fall prey to the commercial profiteers of this world. The media has taken complete control over each and every thing.

Even our own thinking and intellect is now guided by the media. Don’t fall for it. Spend your Sunday just like a normal day. Thanks to The Almighty, the restaurants up and down the country are closed. We didn’t listen to and follow the beautiful teachings of our religion every year. This year we will be listening to Boris Johnson and following the government regulations. What a sad state of affairs.

Use the resources you have at your disposal for the poor and needy. Make a family happy in a developing country. A £30 donation to a reputable charity of your choice, will feed a family for a month. Your cards, flowers, chocolates and gifts will have amounted to £30 at the least.

Do not fall for the interpretation that Islām teaches husbands and wives to give gifts to each other, so we decided to follow Islām! This is very degrading and is making a mockery of our beautiful religion. If you really do want to celebrate Valentine’s day, then do it in that name. Why disguise it and cover it up under Islāmic teachings?

We have all heard that those who imitate another religion or culture, will be regarded as from amongst them. Beat the media war and your life will be full of happiness and joy.

Almighty Allāh give us all the guidance to stay away from all such harmful innovations, Āmeen. Your best gift to your partner today is the above message.
