It’s Tuesday 28th July 2026 / 13 Safar 1448H
Two Weeks In The Company of Shaykh ul-Ḥadīth Mufti Sabīh Akhtar, مدظله العالی, Part 4
The following Sunday we took Mufti Sabīh Ṣāḥib to our Dārul Uloom Bury, on the event of the 3rd annual gathering of Dārul Uloom graduates. As we entered the gates, memories of our days & nights at our beloved Dārul Uloom were refreshed.
It was the perfect opportunity for Mufti Ṣāḥib to meet so many Dārul Uloom graduates, .مَا شَآءَ الله The first set of Ulama who graduated were from the class of 1981. Four students graduated in the presence of Ḥaḍrat Shaikh Zakarīyā, نور الله مرقده, the patron of Dārul Uloom.
Three of these 4 pioneering graduates were present at the reunion. They took us back 50 years, relaying insights into the early days. How Dārul Uloom started with only around 16 students in 1975. Amazing! On Sunday evening we held a reception in honour of Mufti Ṣāḥib at our al-Masjid al-Aqsa.
Many ‘Ulamā were present, including Mufti Shabbir Ṣāḥib, Mufti ‘Abdus Samad Ṣāḥib and Mufti Ibrāhīm Raja Ṣāḥib. Mufti Sabih Ṣāḥib thanked the ‘Ulamā and Muslims of the UK for their very generous support for Muslims and Islāmic causes worldwide, especially India & West Bengal. Mufti Ṣāḥib also performed the Du’ā at the new land acquired by the MWI right next to al-Masjid al-Aqsa.
It had truly been a memorable day, اَلْحَمْدُلِلّه.
To be continued …
