100 Messages in 100 Days
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
It’s Saturday 11th July 2020. Let’s focus on *100 messages in 100 days* today.
It was Monday 23rd March when our government announced that the UK was going into lockdown because of the coronavirus. Sitting on my Musalla at home after every Ṣalāh, I started to ponder on what we must have done wrong to bring the Wrath of Almighty Allāh upon us. Obviously we are not Angels and we have been committing sins all throughout our lives. However, this virus and lockdown were a totally different experience.
After a lot of pondering, soul searching and asking from The Almighty, it came into my heart that we are all involved in so many disobediences of The Almighty, but for one reason or another, we do not touch upon, or are fearful to address them. مَا شَآءَ الله our Imāms and Scholars address many issues. However, some matters are a bit sensitive and *some are such that we are all involved in and everyone remains silent.*
*With the sole intention of trying to please our Creator and as a means of self rectification for myself first and foremost*, I wrote my first message on Thursday 26th March. In order to benefit some close friends and associates, that first message was shared with around 30 contacts. Since that Thursday some 14 weeks ago, I would sit and ponder every day, write a message, and send it out.
With the Blessings of The Almighty and the Du’ās of some of my teachers and well wishers, the messages started to go viral, with feedback being received from all over the country .مَا شَآءَ الله *Keeping a check on my intentions*, with the assistance of the Almighty, I kept these posts going.
The majority of these short articles were for self reflection. When the Blessed Month arrived, a Ramaḍān flavour was added. To keep the readers interested, I mentioned some of my travels and touched upon a few biographies of our elders who are no longer with us. Today, *only by the Grace of The Almighty*, this is the 100th message. All Praises are to Him, without Whose Knowledge not a leaf moves or a raindrop falls.
As these messages are for self rectification and serve as a useful reminder for us, some of the key points will be expanded upon and reiterated. This will give us an opportunity to reflect and take account of ourselves. *Have we put that particular message into practice or not?*
The broadcast list gradually increased, comprising 130 family members, friends and associates اَلْحَمْدُلِلّه, many of whom may have missed earlier messages. Two points to conclude with. Please feel free to request removal from the broadcast list if you wish. I will not feel bad at all and will happily remove you. That is much better than blocking my number, as you may miss out on something important in the future.
Secondly, if you feel that the messages have benefited you, then please feel free to share with your contacts as well. If they want to join my broadcast list, please let me have their details. Almighty Allāh accept our small efforts for His Deen, which in reality are for our own benefit, and reward us all accordingly, Āmeen.
Finally, I will not be doing justice to this cause if I do not thank two close friends. Both of them take time out of their busy schedules to edit and check my messages. Also, a few Ulamā friends who, when necessary, check the Islamic content of the messages and guide me accordingly.
Almighty Allāh reward all of them, Āmeen. *Feedback to my messages is always welcome but not necessary.*
