Dārul Uloom Bury Class of 1991 Reunion (part3)
Since 2014, most of us have kept in touch with each other via the WhatsApp group. On a number of occasions, we tried to organise a reunion, but it was not easy.
Finally, on the invitation of one of our class members, Shaykh Riyadh ul-Ḥaq of Leicester, Saturday 6th June was set aside for a reunion of the class of 1991. The event was organised at very short notice, to coincide with the arrival of Mufti Rashid Aḥmed, also a class colleague, from the US.
The venue was al-Kawthar Academy in Leicester. Classmates from Batley, Blackburn, Bolton, Leicester and Preston attended. It was a memorable reunion, one that all of us will cherish for a very long time to come.
We recollected so many sweet memories and it was as though we had not been separated at all. Some were actually meeting again after 35 years, سُبْحَانَ الله. Our host, Shaykh Riyadh, had prepared so much delicious food for us and took us through his 35-year journey after graduation.
We touched upon so many topics, issues affecting the Ummah today, and most importantly how to continue with the legacy of Dārul Uloom Bury’s teachings. Four hours passed in a flash and it was time to leave.
We made our way to the world famous Islāmic Dā’wah Academy (IDA) run under the auspices of Shaykh ul-Ḥadīth Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Muḥammad Saleem Dhorat Ṣāḥib, مدظله العالی, on the occasion of the annual Qur’ān Khatam programme.
The Academy was packed to the rafters, a buzzing electric atmosphere. After Maghrib we met with Shaykh Saleem who greeted all of us with his traditional warm affectionate handshake and blessed us all with plenty of Du’ās.
It had been a very memorable day, مَا شَآءَ الله.
جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا
Request for Du’ās
