It’s Thursday 5th May 2022 / 4 Shawwal 1443H.
A United ‘Eid ul-Fiṭr, مَا شَآءَ الله
Monday 2nd May 2022 will be very well remembered by the Muslims of the UK, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. It was a memorable day when over 95% of the UK Muslim population celebrated ‘Eid ul-Fiṭr together. What a wonderful feeling and atmosphere we had, .مَا شَآءَ الله
Living in the heart of the famous Whalley Range of Blackburn, which is a beautiful mix of a mini-Islāmabād and mini-Gujarāt (India), all the Muslims had the chance to greet each other with ‘Eid Mubārak’ on the same day, and there were handshakes and hugs all over.
It was a remarkable display of unity. Musallī of Randal, Balaclava and Oak embracing the Musallī of Bicknell, Millham and Troy and vice versa. How did this happen? Have our Imāms and management committees settled their differences?
Sadly, the answer is no. Not at all. It was sheer coincidence. The followers of the CMSC completed 30 days, whilst those with WU sighted the moon on the 29th, and completed 29 days.
My message today is one of the most important ones that I have done thus far. If we as UK Muslims want to witness such unity on every ‘Eid, then the only solution is for each and every Muslim to follow the criteria adopted by the Wifāqul ‘Ulamā (WU) of London (UK).
Theirs is the most sound criteria, which has been endorsed by Shaykh ul-Islām Ḥaḍrat Muftī Muḥammad Taqī Usmāni, دامت برکاتہم, as ‘the most cautious criteria’. Marḥūm Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Mūsā Karmādi Ṣāḥib, نور الله مرقده, (who was the leader of Hizbul ‘Ulamā) had also stated this; i.e. ‘the most cautious criteria‘.
This message of mine needs to reach each and every Imām and each and every management committee member of each and every Masjid of the UK, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ. Ultimately, the responsibility lies on their shoulders. The masses will follow their local Masjids.
If each and every one applied pressure on their Imāms and Masjid management committee members, then our unity will be achieved, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.
Wifāqul ‘Ulamā is headed by one of the most senior scholars of the UK, Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Ayyūb Ṣāḥib, دامت برکاتہم, of Leicester. WU has the blessings and full support of Shaykh ul-Ḥadīth Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Bilal Ṣāḥib, مدظله العالی, the teacher and spiritual mentor of hundreds of ‘Ulamā of the UK, and beyond.
All the Masjids following the Barēlwī Maktab-e-Fikr are already following the WU criteria. The best time for all the Masjids to unite on the WU criteria is from the 1st of Muḥarram 1444H, which is likely to be 30th July 2022. In other words, we have just under 3 months to achieve this unity, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ.
Remember, if we don’t sort this issue out now, there will be no point at all discussing it and wasting time next Ramaḍān. Strike whilst the iron is hot. Strike now.
May The Almighty unite us all on the Wifāqul ‘Ulamā Moon Sighting criteria from 1st Muḥarram 1444H, اِنْ شَاءَ الَّلهُ, Āmeen.
Let this message go viral.
