24 Hours In Leicester – Part 2

A visit to Leicester cannot be complete without paying a visit to the world famous Islāmic Da’wah Academy (IDA), established by my teacher and mentor Shaykh Muḥammad Saleem Dhorat Ṣāḥib, مدظله العالی. He is the heart and soul of this and many other academies in the UK, as well as in several other countries.

I had informed Shaykh about our arrival and he very kindly allocated a whole hour for us to benefit from his auspicious company. We recollected a lot of memories from our Dārul Uloom Bury days, then the postgraduate years, when we were setting up our charity and how Shaykh Saleem was instrumental in laying a solid foundation for us etc.

The hour spent in Shaykh’s company will be cherished for a very long time to come. May The Almighty lengthen Shaykh Muḥammad Saleem Dhorat’s shadow upon us and enable us to benefit from him time and time again, Āmeen.

Our evening meal had been prepared by the wife of a Dārul Uloom colleague, who had come to study from Zimbabwe. The moment he got the news of our arrival in Leicester, he informed his wife and within 4 hours a lovely delicious meal was prepared for us. Almighty Allāh bless them with the Dastarkhwan of Jannat ul-Firdaus, Āmeen.
