السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
It’s Tuesday 21st April 2020. Readers may recall I touched upon the subject of how to treat employees in my post dated Sunday 5th April 2020.
Today, I would like to talk about how ‘Employees Should Value their Employers’.
We all know how difficult it is to find employment, especially in the current climate. Once you have found a job, do your utmost to fulfil all the terms of your contract and keep your employer happy.
Ensure you are punctual and work for your employer as though you are working for yourself, and under no circumstances whatsoever, should you cheat or deceive your employer. Any deliberate discrepancies on your timesheet or expenses will have to be repaid in the hereafter.
Remember, your employer may not be around at all times to keep an eye on you but Almighty Allāh is always watching. As the saying goes ‘do not steal from the hand that feeds you‘.
Unfortunately today, a lot of employees are taking advantage of their employers. This should not be the case. In difficult times, go above and beyond your call of duty. Help your employer out in difficult circumstances or times of hardship.
Remember, although your sustenance is written by Almighty Allāh, your employer is the means of your income. Do not abuse your employment. If you are one of the blessed ones who does not have to do hard physical labour then, thank Almighty Allāh and truly value your post.
Many employees work very hard, tough physical labour, and very difficult shift patterns. Why? Simply to put food on the table for their families. So if you have it cushy then please don’t abuse the system.
One final point. If ever the time comes and your employer is genuinely struggling to make ends meet, then help them out in their hour of need. Do a few extra hours voluntarily. Come in during your days off and help out. If the situation is dire, take lower wages now and then.
Value and repay the favours of your employer. Almighty Allāh create mutual harmony and understanding between all employees and their employers, Āmeen.
Feel free to share.
