It’s Monday 29th June 2026 / 13 Muḥarram 1448H.

A Weekend in Ireland (part 3)

Today was our last day of this flying visit to Ireland. Our hosts arranged for us to have breakfast at a local restaurant, where we were served the traditional desi breakfast. A couple of senior doctors accompanied us for breakfast.

Ireland has a very strong social and welfare system. The residents are very well looked after. The streets are nice and clean. If someone is reported for dropping litter, they could be fined 160 euros. The people are very friendly and there has been an influx of refugees during the last few years.

We went for a walk on Banna Beach. Once again the waves of the Atlantic were a spectacular sight to see. It was so nice and fresh. As with all things, this weekend trip to Ireland came to an end as we made our way to Shannon airport for our return flight to Liverpool. The visit was an eye opener to the services rendered by young ‘Ulamā and their families, most of whom are graduates of UK Dārul Ulooms.

I’m the past, one would usually find graduates from only one or two Dārul Ulooms, such as Bury and Dewsbury Markaz in such isolated locations. Now, graduates from lots of other institutions, including Dārul Uloom Bolton, Miftāhul Uloom Blackburn, Dārul Uloom Blackburn have sacrificed their home comforts, to serve the Dīn in remote communities far and wide, ‏مَا شَآءَ الله.

Finally, the hardest sacrifices are made by some of our Ḥāfiẓahs & ‘Ālimāts. Together with their husbands, they are doing a sterling job in educating the ladies and girls in their respective areas.

May The Almighty accept their services for His Dīn and reward them all with happiness and joy in this world and with Jannat ul-Firdaus in the Hereafter, Āmeen.
