A Memorable Journey to the 77th Nakhba Protest – part 1

Friends of al-Aqsa (FOA) and other pro-Palestine organisations had organised a massive protest in London for Saturday 17th May. For the first time, a special bloc was specifically reserved for the ‘Ulamā & Ḥuffāẓ of the UK.

As we started to make transport arrangements from Blackburn, our highly respected teacher, Mufti Shabbir Ṣāḥib reserved his seat on the coach; one specifically for the ‘Ulamā/Ḥuffāẓ and their families.

We filled up 2 coaches with this crème de la crème of our community, and also another 3 coaches with the general public. I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a trip to London as much as I enjoyed this one.

From the moment we set off, we started the Maqra (recitation) of the 40 Aḥādīth related to al-Masjid al-Aqsa and Bait ul-Muqaddas. For the next 2 hours on the coach, we were all mesmerised.

The commentary of the Aḥādīth flowed from Mufti Ṣāḥib’s lips like pearls and jewels. All the ‘Ulamā and Ḥuffāẓ on the coach took part and it truly was an inspiring session.

To be continued …

May The Almighty accept our feeble efforts and may the day be very close when we can all freely and independently pray Ṣalāh in al-Masjid al-Aqsa, Āmeen.
